Deana Froerer teaches Economics at Weber State University and works part-time with DaVinci Academy as a mentor and financial literacy/ business course instructor. Previous positions have included Vice President & Regional Economist for KeyCorp, President of Richard T. Pratt Associates, and Research Associate for the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Utah. She served on the Executive Board for the Wasatch Front Economic Forum and was elected to the Valley Elementary Community Council, plus she served on the Council of Economic Advisors to Utah Governor Mike Leavitt.
As a candidate, Deana understands that education is key to future economic prospects for Utah’s hard working families. Utah’s educational system involves a complex mix of stakeholders, opportunities, and constraints. As we seek to implement best practices, we face serious challenges and Deana brings an authentic appreciation and understanding of these challenges. Other factors that are also key to our state’s future economic viability, such as sustainable environmental policies that protect our land, air, and water resources and access to health care, are also key elements in her campaign platform. Practicing inclusive leadership, she can help bring about the best possible outcomes.
