Congressional District 3
Dr. Kathie Allen has been a family physician for over 30 years. She came to Utah to complete her medical training, was taken in by the beauty of our state, and decided to stay. She and her husband, Craig, have been married for 27 years. They raised their children in the Cottonwood Heights area and are now happy to have the title of “Grandparents.”
Kathie has been a Democrat most of her adult life, but it wasn’t until she attended a town hall sponsored by Congressman Jason Chaffetz that she became politically involved. She began to consider running against Chaffetz and opened an exploratory committee. Then it happened. Jason Chaffetz made his infamous comment that people should choose health care over iPhones. She tweeted the remark, the tweet went viral, and before she knew it, she had raised over $600 thousand dollars. It was then that her run for United States Congress became official.
Kathie is running for congress because she believes that the principles of truth and accountability are under assault. As a family doctor, she has dedicated her life to healing and careful listening. These are the skills she promises to bring to Congress so that our nation can heal.
