Paula Espinoza Wells
Chair of Caucus Chairs
Paula Espinoza is the Caucus Chair of Chairs.
Paula has been active in the Democratic Party for the last few years. She has been the chair of the State Hispanic Caucus for the last two and half years. She has helped with campaigns and has a passion for social justice. She is an amateur photographer and has photographed several candidates.
Paula has worked for the Salt Lake City School District for the last several years. She was a data specialist and has worked with turnaround schools and schools in improvement. She is currently the Assistant Principal at Escalante Elementary. Paula was born and raised in Carbon County, Utah. She worked as a teacher and administer at a school there, teaching computers in grades K-8, as well as, business classes and art classes in high school.
In addition to her career, Paula has spent many years serving the community in many capacities. Including, serving as chair of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, President of the Coalition of Educational Technology, President of the Carbon County Gifted and Talented Association. She has served in the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America organizations. She is currently the Vice President of ALAS-U (Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents – Utah).
Paula has a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy, a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Associates degrees in General Education and Business Administration with a Certificate in Accounting. Paula lives in a family home in Glendale (Salt Lake City). She has two grown children. Derek lives in Portland, Oregon. Samantha and her husband Joey, live in Herriman. She has three grandsons, Kaiden, Jagger and Hendrix.
