Abigail Wright – SD9 Candidate

I am a democrat because I am an advocate for people.

In 2010, Abbey’s son was born with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) which caused hearing loss, vestibular loss and motor delays. Abigail’s experience with her son is what started her down the path of advocacy and she has previously served as the Vice President of the Utah CMV Council, is a co-founder of the National CMV Foundation (NCMVF) and has served on the NCMVF development committee. She was recently appointed by Governor Herbert to serve on the Utah Developmental Disabilities Council where she chairs the employment committee. Abbey has been a passionate advocate for disability rights; dedicated to be a voice for the voiceless in Utah politics. Abbey looks forward to using her advocacy skills on behalf of the citizens of Senate District 9 on the issues that matter most to them.

Abbey is the Owner/Operator of an equestrian boarding and training facility. She also works as the Business Development and Marketing Director for JWright Companies and is currently a graduate student of Government Studies at Harvard Extension School.

Abbey lives in Sandy with her husband Jeff and their two children, Alex (8) and Evie (5).
