VICE CHAIR MATA RETURNS FROM TRIP TO TAIWAN AS PART OF NATIONAL DELEGATION
SALT LAKE CITY, March 21, 2023 —Last week, Utah Democratic Party Vice Chair Oscar Mata traveled to Taiwan as part of a delegation from the Association of State Democratic Committees. Vice Chair Mata joined a select group of leaders from state parties across the country, along with ASDC Chair Ken Martin, on the trip.
“I was honored to represent Utah as part of the ASDC delegation to Taiwan last week. While there, we had the chance to meet with government Deputy Ministers, leaders of the two major political parties, the Democratic Progressive Party and the Kuomintang, nonprofits focused on equality and democracy, and students interested in learning about the US political process and my job as Vice Chair,” said Vice Chair Mata. “Taiwan is a robust and thriving democracy, and I was proud to play a part in maintaining a strong partnership with them.”

The Utah Democratic party is the face and voice of Democrats in the State of Utah. We believe that Utahns deserve strong, competent leadership that puts the people and democracy first.
