Karen Kwan

Dr. Kwan and her family are long-time residents of the Taylorsville-West Valley City areas. Her family was involved in a local small business here for many years, and have been community advocates for even longer. Karen is a graduate of Pepperdine University with both a Bachelor of Psychology and a Masters in Clinical Community Psychology. She also holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah.

Karen is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology at Salt Lake Community College, where she was named the SLCC 2014 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer. She began her career working for a sheltered workshop for adults with Autism in Granada Hills, CA, then as a group home manager for abused and neglected children at Northridge, CA. She has also worked as program assistant at the Asian Association of Utah and Adviser at the Center for Ethnic Student Affairs at the University of Utah.
