Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury to address Utah State Democratic Convention

April 16, 2024, Salt Lake City - The Utah Democratic Party announced Wednesday, April 10, that Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) is traveling to Salt Lake City to address Utah Democratic Delegates at the State Democratic Convention on April 27th, 2024, at Cottonwood High School.

Congresswoman Stansbury, as the first woman representing District 28 in the New Mexico House of Representatives, tackled conservation, climate change, and the pandemic. Her success in that role led to her election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2021, where she’s addressed food insecurity, disparities in healthcare, and climate change. “Congresswoman Stansbury shares the Utah Democratic Party’s pro-family values and has done the work to ensure families have the resources they need,” UDP Chair Diane Lewis said.

Congresswoman Stansbury will also be addressing supporters at the annual Taylor & Mayne Award Dinner on April 26th, located at the Ken Garff Scholarship Club. Additionally, UDP Chair Diane Lewis will present organizer and activist Terri Goodall with the Todd Taylor Democratic Gains Award, and former Utah State Representative and Union Leader Liz Weight with the Ed Mayne Labor Champion Award.
