Utah Democratic Party Mourns Former Utah House & Senate Minority Leader Mike Dmitrich

October 3, 2024, Salt Lake City - Utah Democratic Party Chair Diane Lewis released the following statement today:

“Leader Mike Dmitrich was a staunch advocate for labor and public education. The last Democratic State Senator to win a district south of Salt Lake County, Leader Dmitrich showed that Democratic representation benefits all Utahns, no matter what part of the state they’re from. His 40-year legislative career is an inspiration to Democrats everywhere. My thoughts are with his friends and family at this time.”
